‘Time to Come Back to Gwynn’s’; Gwynn’s Coffeehouse Reopens for Take-out Orders

A month ago, an emotional Mallory Gwynn looked around his quiet and empty coffee shop in downtown Canby and announced that Gwynn’s Coffeehouse would close indefinitely after the Covid-related restaurant shutdown had decimated their revenue in a matter of days.

This week, a much refreshed and enthusiastic Mallory Gwynn returned to his favorite medium — the Facebook video — to share the bit of good news many folks in Canby needed: Gwynn’s Coffeehouse is back.

“You know these signs we put up, ‘Closing for the Time Being’?” Gwynn asks, pointing to the pieces of paper that have been posted to the front doors of the cafe for about five weeks. “Not so anymore.”

Gwynn’s reopened Tuesday — Cinco de Mayo, Gwynn noted — with modified hours (8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday), but a full menu of drink and food options. The coffeehouse is open for take-out only, and is recommending you call your orders in at 503-263-0200.

“Now is the time to come back to Gwynn’s and enjoy some of that coffee and food that you’ve been looking for,” Gwynn says.

Gwynn family: We think we can safely speak for all of Canby when we say, “Welcome back. Please don’t ever leave us again.”
