Sheriff’s Office Investigating Single Fatality in Aurora-Area House Fire

The Marion County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a fatality at an Aurora home where fire crews responded to an explosion Thursday evening.

Emergency crews responded to the call at around 7:22 p.m. in the Deer Creek Estates area, where they discovered a house on fire.

The Aurora Fire District responded to the scene, assisted by neighboring agencies, including Canby Fire, Tualatin Valley Fire and Rescue, and Hubbard Fire.

Fire crews discovered the victim as they worked to suppress the blaze, the sheriff’s office reported.

There were no other victims, and police have yet to identify the deceased.

The sheriff’s office is investigating the incident with the assistance of Oregon State Police, Aurora Fire and the Oregon State Fire Marshal’s Office.

The state fire marshal, OSP, Portland General Electric, METCOM, Clackamas 911 (C-COM) and Willamette Valley Communications Center also assisted in the emergency response.
