Pedestrian Struck, Killed on McLoughlin Boulevard in Milwaukie

A Gladstone man was killed while crossing McLoughlin Boulevard/Highway 99E in Milwaukie Tuesday evening, according to Oregon State Police.

OSP troopers and emergency personnel responded to the scene of Highway 99E at Southeast Risley Avenue at approximately 7:48 p.m. on reports of a motor vehicle versus pedestrian crash.

The preliminary investigation revealed a northbound Subaru Outback, driven by Milwaukie resident Kathleen Sanetel, struck a pedestrian, identified as 67-year-old Timothy Harpole, as the vehicle passed through the Risley Avenue intersection.

Police said Harpole was outside of the crosswalk at the time of the collision.

Harpole was transported to an area hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

Highway 99E was affected for approximately two hours while the OSP Collision Reconstruction Unit investigated.

OSP was assisted by Clackamas Fire and ODOT.
