No Filter: Wildfire Smoke Turns Skies Orange over Canby

It’s been feeling like the end of the world for most of 2020 — now, we have a sky to match.

The skies over Canby turned orange, red, yellow, purple and black as smoke rolled in from still-raging wildfires surrounding the community.

According to Clackamas Fire, there were as many as 15 fire-related incidents underway in the county as of 3:15 p.m. Canby, some of them small incidents requiring only one apparatus and others with more than 20 units and vehicles on the scene and hard at work.

Areas east of Oregon City and in the southwestern corner of the county are under level 3 evacuation.

We asked residents to send in shots of what their necks of the woods were looking like today, and we wanted to preserve them here so we’ll always remember — not that anyone is likely to soon forget.
