Motorcyclist Killed in Fatal Crash near Woodburn

A Salem man died following a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 99E and Boones Ferry Road between Gervais and Woodburn Thursday night, Oregon State Police reports.

Troopers and emergency personnel responded to the scene shortly before 11 p.m.

Investigators said a Hyundai Santa Fe driven by 40-year-old Jose Sandoval Flores, of Woodburn, was northbound on 99E and turned left into the path of a Harley Davidson motorcycle operated by Jerald Stewart, 64, of Salem.

Police said Stewart sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased. Flores was not injured.

Authorities did not specify factors that may have contributed to the fatal crash.

OSP was assisted by Woodburn Fire Department, Woodburn Ambulance and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
