Friends of the Library’s Backyard Tour Is Back — Bigger and Better Than Ever

After a two-year hiatus due to Covid-19, the nonprofit Friends of the Canby Public Library are thrilled to bring back their popular Great Backyard and Patio Tour this summer!

Billed as a community showcase of the greenest thumbs in The Garden Spot, the Great Backyard and Patio Tour will offer visits to eight outstanding outdoor oases in the Canby area and give guests the opportunity to ask questions and collect tips from the homeowners.

Attendees will be able to see how their neighbors live and play in their backyards and get ideas for their own gardens, patios and other outdoor spaces.

The Friends are immensely grateful for the efforts of event co-sponsor the Canby Garden Club, a wonderful group of local gardening enthusiasts who were instrumental in helping bring back the revitalized Great Backyard and Patio Tour this year, bigger and better than ever.

The Friends also thank the participating homeowners and all the other local organizations and sponsors who have made this event possible.

Canby’s Great Backyard and Patio Tour will be from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, July 9. Tickets are $15 and may be purchased at the Canby Public Library or Cutsforth’s Market. The tickets include the addresses for each home on the tour. All proceeds go toward free educational and cultural programming at the Canby Public Library.

The Great Backyard and Patio Tour is the sister event of the Friends’ Canby Christmas Tour of Lights (formerly Tour of Homes), which will also return this holiday season after a successful pilot in 2021.

The Friends of the Canby Public Library are also seeking volunteers to fill immediate openings on their Board of Directors. Applications are available in the Book Garden Store at the library or by contacting canbyfol@gmail.com.
