Friends of the Library Supports Book Drive at TMK Creamery

The Friends of the Canby Public Library on Saturday stopped by Canby’s TMK Creamery — but they weren’t there for cheese curds and ice cream.

…OK, they weren’t there just for cheese curds and ice cream. The local nonprofit organization’s main reason for stopping by was to deliver a load of books for the creamery’s holiday book drive benefiting local foster children.

Friends co-chair Lois Brooks said the organization wanted to support the drive because it was such a good cause.

The nonprofit normally collects donated books and resells them at its Book Garden store inside the Canby Public Library, but the store and library have both been closed since March due to Covid-19.

The Friends held outdoor book sales in the Canby Civic Plaza this summer but was unable to continue the practice after the weather turned.

TMK Creamery is accepting new and used books for all ages — infant through teen — Thursday through Friday 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. and on Saturdays 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. All books will be given to foster kids in the local area.

TMK Creamery is located at 27221 S. Dryland Road in Canby and online at tmkcreamery.com.
