For the past three years, Peter Hostetler and his team has offered service, maintenance and sales for new and used construction equipment through the Canby-based company Equipment NW.
His company is now expanding and well-positioned for continued future growth, thanks to a new dealership agreement with SANY America Inc., a Georgia-based global leader in the design, engineering and manufacturing of heavy equipment, and a new, 7,000-square-foot facility off Highway 99E in Canby.
As Hostetler explained in a recent phone interview with the Canby Now Podcast, his company primarily serves contractors, landscapers, loggers, farmers, ranchers, developers and other commercial businesses with their equipment and truck needs.
Before Equipment NW, Hostetler worked with his family’s company, Ken Hostetler Construction, or KHC Inc., a well-known construction and contracting firm that has served the region since 1980.
Now, as an authorized dealer for SANY, they also offer sales of new equipment from the company’s line of excavators, wheel loaders, earth movers, motor graders, compactors and all the other stuff my 4-year-old goes nuts over.
Hostetler said it’s part of SANY’s goal to expand their footprint domestically and in the Pacific Northwest.
Equipment NW’s new dealership, workshop and showroom is located in a historic, 1940s-era building that was originally built for an agricultural machinery dealer, but has also served as the location of a number of other businesses over the years, including Millar’s Point S Tire and Auto and Roth Heating & Cooling.
The building underwent a complete revitalization and remodel inside and out, with some support coming from the Enhanced Facade Improvement Program offered through the Canby Urban Renewal Agency.
The company hosted a ribbon cutting and open house last week and, as Hostetler explained, even gave their guests a chance to take some of their new equipment for a bit of a test drive.
Equipment NW is located at 593 SE First Ave. in Canby. We can’t guarantee they’ll let you play with the buckets and tennis balls, but you can check them out their brand-new showroom. Or visit their website at equipmentnw.com.
