Driver Killed in Three-Vehicle Crash on Highway 211

A driver was killed in a three-vehicle crash that occurred Friday night on Highway 211 near Hubbard and Woodburn.

Oregon State Police says a Honda Accord was southbound on 211 when the driver lost control and slid sideways into the northbound lane. A Chevrolet van operated by 27-year-old Illia Burigin, of Canby, was northbound and the vehicles collided.

Moments later, a Ford Contour operated by 28-year-old Steven Furlow, of Mulino, was unable to avoid the incident and crashed into the Chevrolet van.

The operator of the Honda Accord sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene. The name will be released after OSP can confirm that notifications have been made.

Burigin and Furlow were not seriously injured. There was heavy rains in the area at the time of the collision, which may have been a contributing factor.

OSP was assisted by the Monitor Fire Department and ODOT.
