Dickensian Carolers to Bring Cheer to Canby Library

Interested in an afternoon of yuletide carols being sung by a choir?

Look no further than The Dicken Carolers, a four-piece group of traditional Christmas carol singers, who will be performing at 1 p.m. Saturday, December 4, at the Canby Public Library.

Props to organizers for scheduling the concert early enough in the season that you are (hopefully) not yet sick of Christmas music. And if you’re already sick of it, well, there’s just no hope for you, Ebenezer.

The Dickens Carolers dress in beautiful, Victorian-era costumes dating to approximately 1843 — the year Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol was first published.

In the true spirit of the day, all music by the troupe is unaccompanied and sung in four-part harmony. The Dickens Carolers have been performing in the Portland area since 1985.

The public is invited to enjoy the 30-minute caroling session as a special treat to get into the holiday spirit. The event is made possible by funding from the local nonprofit Friends of the Canby Public Library.

The Canby Public Library is located at 220 Northeast 2nd Avenue. For more information, call 503-266-3394.
