Deputies Wrangle Donkey Loose in Milwaukie Neighborhood

Being a county rich in farms and other agricultural resources, the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office is no stranger to calls involving livestock.

Typically, though, they do not happen in residential neighborhoods.

That was the case early Tuesday morning, however, as deputies were called to a residential subdivision in unincorporated Milwaukie on a report of a loose donkey.

It’s normal for our deputies to respond to livestock calls. This one however caught our attention because it was in an unincorporated Milwaukie neighborhood. pic.twitter.com/gH0LIv2OqS

Deputies arrived at around 4:30 a.m. and found the donkey, but the sheriff’s office said a dog from another house got loose and chased it away.

The donkey was found again on a different street, along with its owner. Deputies said the donkey sustained slight injuries from the episode, but will be OK.

Officers provided a rope and the owner was able to walk the donkey back home.

I guess you could say they really saved his ass.
