Cutsforth’s Market’s Taste of the Season Spring Showcase Raises $1,000 for Canby Fireworks

Cutsforth’s Market in Canby hosted their annual Taste of the Season Spring Showcase, welcoming hundreds of people through to sample some of the best local foods, produce, beer, wine, coffee and other goodies that the area has to offer. There were more than 50 vendors in all, and Grocery Manager Andrew Rivera says it’s something the entire store looks forward to every year.

The event was a fundraiser for the Canby Fire District and Canby Fire Volunteer Association, specifically for the annual Fourth of July fireworks show they put on for the community each year at Trost Elementary School. When all was tallied at the end of the night, the event had raised more than $1,000 to help make this year’s show the most spectacular yet!

If you missed out, don’t worry! You can still help support the fundraising effort on the GoFundMe page here. The fire district and volunteer association is working with Canby’s own Western Display Fireworks again this year, and their goal is to raise $15,000.

The effort not only serves the community by putting on one of the best fireworks shows in the northwest; it also helps encourage the community to let the pros handle the pyrotechnics instead of…well, you know.

Some of the vendors on display included:

  • Carlton Farms Gourmet Meats
  • Coach’s Salsa
  • Zenner’s Sausage Co.
  • Pelican Brewing Company
  • Bon Mua Oregon
  • BWild Kombucha
  • … And, of course, the Canby Now Podcast! We didn’t have any samples, but we did help eat and drink a lot of them. And we were having a lot of fun, playing games, doing magic and some live recording. Tune in to Monday’s episode to hear all the best sound bytes!
