Corona Caroling? Local Musician Bringing Joy to Others ‘from a Distance’

Hey, how about some good news? I think we could all use it. Here’s a story of one local musician trying to make the best of a bad situation.

Jessi La Main, an incredibly talented musician and vocalist, isn’t one to let something as small as, you know, all of her gigs being canceled, get in the way of performing.

She and her wife, Donna La Main (who’s also her manager), drove around Canby last week, with Jessi playing a capella concerts for friends from the back of their pickup truck.

“We thought we would bring some joy by delivering a concert, but from a distance,” Jessi says.

They called it “corona caroling,” and I’ll be darned if they didn’t pick the absolute perfect song. Here’s what it sounded like:

After this visit, Jessi says they went down the block to see another friend in Canby, where they sang “Have You Ever Seen the Rain?” by Creedence Clearwater Revival, “Wagon Wheel” by Darius Rucker and, of course, “Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley.

“On this block, there was an elderly couple and another family who came out on their porch to listen,” she said. “There was a cute little girl dancing with her daddy. It was super, super cute.”
