Canby Swimmers Fall to Tigard, but Show Improvement

The Canby swimmers fell to Tigard Dec.13th at home, but the team showed improvementoverall.  Tigard women won 106 -64, while the Tigard men finished just ahead of Canby 87-82. 

For the Canby women, Alora Robbins finished first in the 500 free (6:01.92) and second in the 200 free. Kira Goepferd finished first in the 200 IM (2:33.66) and second in the 100 back. Mairen Chard earned first in the 100 back (1:02.22) and second in the 100 fly. Erin Meredith was second in the 200 IM and third in the 100 breaststroke. In the 400 free relay the team of Kira Goepferd, Alora Robbins, Erin Meredith and Mairen Chard earned first place in a time of 4:08.87.

On the boys’ side of the pool, Jordan Spencer finished first in the 100 breaststroke (1:08.32) and second in the 200 IM. Conner DeRisio was first in the 100 fly (1:01.40) and first in the 500 free (5:51.71), Hunter DeRisio finished second in the 200 free and second in the 100 back. Jack Hayhurst was 2ndin the 100 back and third in the 200 IM. Thomas Diggles finished second in the 50 and 100 free and Brandon Slater earned second in the 100 fly. 

Canby will host Lakeridge on Thursday, Dec. 20, at 4 p.m. at the Canby Swim Center.
