Canby Police Plans Second Annual Grill & Chill, National Night Out

The Canby Police Department will hold its second annual Grill & Chill event next month in conjunction with National Night Out.

The free, family-friendly event will feature food, fun and demonstrations of police equipment and techniques and will be held from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 2, at the Canby Police Department, located at 1175 NW 3rd Avenue.

“We are excited to have our second annual Grill & Chill event this year on National Night Out,” said Canby Police Chief Jorge Tro. “This is our way of saying ‘thank you’ to this great and supportive community. Come by and meet your Canby police officers! Hope to see you there!”

The night’s menu will feature hot dogs grilled up by Canby’s finest, along with free Kona Ice until 6 p.m.

Other fun will include a photo booth, exciting police demos, and “Dunk-A-Cop” in the dunk tank. Residents are encouraged to meet and mingle with local officers and enjoy music compliments of Canby Music.

National Night Out is an annual event on the first Tuesday in August, created to foster quality relationships between police and those they serve in an effort to strengthen relationships and the community overall.
