Canby Fire District Responds to Two Crashes on Rainy Friday Night

It was a busy night for Canby Fire District, as units were called to the scenes of two multiple-vehicle crashes within 60 minutes of each other on a rainy Friday evening.

The first occurred on Highway 99E near the Wild Hare Saloon at approximately 6:45 p.m. Canby Fire Division Chief Matt English said two vehicles were involved, and two patients were transported to an area medical center with non-traumatic injuries.

Just about an hour later, at approximately 7:45 p.m., another two-vehicle collision happened at the intersection of Canby-Marquam Highway (Hwy 170) and Centennial Lane south of town, near Kraxberger Road. In this case, a minor was transported for evaluation. English said their injuries were also non-traumatic.

CFD advises motorists to drive the posted speed, or slower, when conditions add to a potentially dangerous commute and watch oncoming traffic very closely.
