Canby Ferry to Reopen at Full Capacity Next Week

The Canby Ferry will close for scheduled maintenance on June 22, and may remain closed for up to two days. When it reopens no later than June 24, it will be at full capacity.

The ferry closed to the public in March, along with most county offices, to slow the spread of Covid-19. When it reopened on May 4, it was at half-capacity: No more than three cars at a time.

Starting Wednesday, June 24, the three-car limit will be removed. However, to protect the health of the public and county employees, ferry riders are still asked to use exact cash fare or punch pass for payment.

The Canby Ferry crosses the Willamette River between Canby and Wilsonville. The ferry runs seven days a week from 6:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. except on major holidays and when the water level rises to 70 feet or higher, or during inclement weather.

Check in for regular updates at www.bit.ly/canbyferry or by calling the Canby Ferry Information Line at 503-650-3030.

The county’s primary service buildings are also reopening during limited hours starting Monday, June 22. Both the Development Services Building and the Public Services Building will be open to the public from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Monday – Thursday.

Most staff at both buildings have been operating virtually over the past several months. Departments that will reopen to the public include: Assessment & Taxation, Business and Community Services, Health, Housing and Human Services, Transportation and Development, and Water Environment Services.

Other departments will continue offering virtual services. While most departments/divisions listed above offer both walk-in and appointment visits, some can only offer appointment visits at this time.

Residents are strongly encouraged to first contact departments via www.clackamas.us/departments for clarification regarding open services. A full list of department operations in the buildings will be available by the end of this week at www.clackamas.us/coronavirus/closures.
