Canby Comes Together at Annual Knights of Columbus Charity Auction and Crab Dinner

Hundreds of hungry Dungeness crab lovers descended upon the Clackamas County Fairgrounds Saturday Night for the Canby KC Annual Charity Auction and Crab Dinner.

The event is organized by the local chapter of the Knights of Columbus, which is based at St. Patrick Catholic Church.

Despite the main course, no one was feeling “crabby.” The generosity was flowing for the event, which was a fundraiser for a dozen local and regional charities, including The Canby Center, Canby food bank, Canby Utility’s “Share the Warmth” Program, the Canby High School Senior All-Night Party and the Canby Pregnancy Care Center.

One highlight was the almost $25,000 that was raised on the spot to help a local family from the St. Patrick Parish, whose 11-month-old daughter, Amira, is in need of a heart transplant.

Our thanks to the Knights and Columbiettes, auctioneer team Paul Carlson and Greg Perez, and everyone else who was involved in making this wonderful event possible.
