The church choir of La Luz del Mundo en Canby Oregon is hosting an impromptu New Year’s Eve concert at 2 p.m. in Wait Park.
Church sister Azalia Padilla said the concert will be acapella and include mostly holiday favorites to ring in the new year. The concert is expected to last one hour.
The Canby church, La Luz del Mundo, or “Light of the World,” has been busy this year, handing out food baskets to those in need, gifts of personal protective equipment and other goodies to essential workers and other signs of appreciation to the community.
They also shone the light — literally — on the efforts of front-line health care workers during the early months of the pandemic.
