Applications Now Being Accepted for Clackamas County’s Small Grants Program

The application process for Clackamas County’s Small Grants Program is now open, marking the 10th consecutive year the county is offering this critical program designed to assist local nonprofits that provide services to vulnerable populations living within the county.

A total of $250,000 will be distributed. Last year, 43 groups were selected for grants ranging from $770 to nearly $15,000.

Groups serve populations such as seniors, housing insecure individuals, veterans in need, families of cancer-stricken children, at-risk youth, the developmentally disabled, hungry persons and many more. A list of last year’s awardees is available online.

To be eligible, applicants must be nonprofits currently serving residents of the county, and qualifying projects must result in a positive, measurable outcome for residents.

Priority will also be given to projects that serve populations in the Clackamas Community Prosperity Collaborative, which includes Canby, Estacada and Milwaukie.

Organizations interested in being considered may apply through Thursday, Aug. 15 at 5 p.m.

Recipients will be announced in October, with funds being awarded soon thereafter. For more information on how to apply, visit clackamas.us/bcc/smallgrants.html.
