Access Technologies Inc. is partnering with Clackamas County Social Services to provide computers or tablets to lower-income older adults in Clackamas County, as a way to help vulnerable seniors stay connected in the social distancing era.
The program will assist with purchasing, setting up and maintaining the equipment for up to 12 months. Participants will also receive training and technical support, and may also be reimbursed for the costs of cellular or internet services.
The participants will keep the computers or tablets at the conclusion of the 12-month program.
To qualify, participants must live in Clackamas County, be at least 55 years old and have an income (or combined income with spouse) that is at or below 185% of the federal poverty index.
Participants must also not have access to other technology at the time of their request, and must have no other means of paying for their technological needs.
Interested residents should apply before the end of the year.
