Oregon State Police is investigating a suspicious death that was discovered at the French Prairie rest area on Interstate 5 northbound in Clackamas County — between Aurora and Wilsonville.
On Friday morning, police confirmed the victim was a 16-year-old male from Washington state. OSP said his name will not be released because he was a minor.
Troopers said they were called to the area at 7:37 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 26, on reports of a man found dead inside a vehicle at the rest stop.
The manner of his death was deemed “suspicious,” police said in a news release Thursday afternoon, and investigators are actively examining the circumstances surrounding his death.
OSP declined to release further details, citing the continuing investigation.
