The Oregon State Sheriffs’ Association has partnered with students and TGF Productions to produce a public service announcement highlighting SafeOregon, a school safety tip line program available to students statewide.
“We’re proud to work with students on this important project to promote school safety,” said Sheriff Craig Roberts, president of the Oregon State Sheriffs’ Association. “We know many kids in school may be struggling, and we want them to know help is available.”
Oregon middle school and high school students participated in the public service announcement along with sheriffs from across the state — including Sheriff Roberts, Lane County Sheriff Cliff Harrold, Lincoln County Sheriff Curtis Landers, Hood River County Sheriff Matt English, Jackson County Sheriff Nathan Sickler and Deschutes County Sheriff Shane Nelson.
The SafeOregon PSA will air in television markets throughout Oregon.
SafeOregon gives kids, parents, schools and their communities a way to report safety threats or potential acts of violence. In the two years since SafeOregon was launched, more than 3,000 tips have been received. Students can submit safety concerns via text, call, website, or through the SafeOregon app.
