The Canby men’s soccer team has come on strong lately, as they’ve won two of their last three, including coming away with a big victory on the road at Lake Oswego Thursday.
The lone score came early in the second half when freshman defender Cristobal Esquivel put a cross into the box, and Sergio Rodriguez buried the ball in the back of the net to put the Cougars up 1-0.
From there, the team held strong to preserve the shutout, with the most dramatic moment being a terrific save by senior goal keeper Zach Heidema with about 3 minutes left in the game.
The Cougars improved to 3-5-1 in Three Rivers League play and head to Oregon City on Tuesday before hosting Tigard for Senior Night on Thursday.
