A Clackamas man is in custody facing multiple charges for his alleged role in a drive-by shooting near Milwaukie Monday afternoon.
Shortly after 3 p.m. Monday, June 19, Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a reported shooting on the 6800 block of Southeast Lamphier Street near Milwaukie.
The suspect — identified as 50-year-old Jayson Paul Lacroix — reportedly drove to the shooting scene in a black Mitsubishi sedan, then fired multiple gunshots from his sedan toward a victim who was standing between two parked vehicles in front of a residence on Lamphier Street.
Lacroix then reportedly left the scene in the Mitsubishi. The victim, whom police say was known to Lacroix, was not hurt.
Deputies located the suspect vehicle, a Mitsubishi Lancer registered to Lacroix, parked at an apartment complex on Southeast 97th Avenue in Clackamas.
Deputies then contacted and arrested Lacroix after he was spotted attempting to leave the scene in a blue sedan.
Detectives and CSI personnel responded to the area to interview witnesses, canvas the area and collect and document evidence. Authorities found multiple bullet strikes on a vehicle the victim reportedly dove behind during the shooting.
Following an interview with detectives, Lacroix was transported to the Clackamas County Jail on charges of first-degree attempted assault, menacing, and two counts of unlawful use of a weapon.
Anyone with information on this incident or additional criminal activity involving Lacroix is urged to contact the sheriff’s office by phone at 503-723-4949 or by using the online email form. Please reference caso no. 23-012831.
