Oh my gosh, guys! Tim Cook is going to speak at Clackamas Community College this month! I’m so excited! I’m going to- what? … Oh.
So, it’s not Apple CEO Tim Cook. It’s Clackamas Community College President Tim Cook, but he is going to be speaking. It’s CCC’s annual State of the College address, which President Cook will be delivering twice in January.
He will discuss the current state of the college along with upcoming challenges and opportunities, including enrollment, funding and new initiatives.
“When I joined the college as its president last July, I committed to not only serve our students but also the community in the college district,” President Cook said. “Please join me to learn how the college is growing, as well as how we are adapting to address the community’s changing needs.”
The State of the College will include an update on CCC’s bond projects, which are funded through a $90-million bond passed by the community in 2014; highlights from 2018; the college’s impact on the local workforce and economy; and challenges in state funding and tuition.
The State of the College addresses are:
- Friday, Jan. 18, 8 a.m., Harmony Community Campus, Harmony West community room, 7738 SE Harmony Road, Milwaukie
- Friday, Jan. 25, 10 a.m., Oregon City campus, Gregory Forum, 19600 Molalla Ave., Oregon City
No word yet if all the attendees will get an exclusive sneak peak at Apple’s newest iPhone. But probably not.
