If someone told us they had opened a gateway to hell in Canby on Wednesday, Sept.9, we would have been surprised — but not that surprised.
Ash and smoke from three large wildfires and a dozen smaller ones that had raged across the county for over 24 hours brought a day that was dark, red and distinctly otherworldly – much like a darkroom from an earlier age.
The Canby Current asked readers to send in photos from their neck of the woods — for posterity sake — and boy did they deliver. All of the shots that follow were sent in by our wonderful and talented community.
