A Molalla man died Sunday evening in a single-vehicle rollover crash on South Cramer Road near the intersection with Barnards.
Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the scene to find the driver, later identified as 36-year-old Galdino Salazar Jr., had been ejected from his black Chevy Tahoe and was severely injured.
The Tahoe had suffered significant damage as it rolled through a berry field and came to rest on its side. Life Flight was requested.
Deputies and paramedics attempted to revive Salazer with life-saving measures; sadly, he succumbed to his injuries and died at the scene.
A member of the Criminal Reconstruction and Forensic Technicians (CRAFT) team, members of the Sheriff’s Office Serious Injury Crash Team, and a Clackamas County Deputy Medical Examiner also responded to the scene to continue the investigation.
Salazar was found to be in possession of methamphetamine and marijuana at the time of the crash, although impairment had not been determined to be a factor in the fatal crash as of Monday evening.
The cause is still under investigation.
