The Clackamas Community College (CCC) Theatre Department opens the Main Stage with its production of the comedy The Liar on Feb. 28.
Dorante, a charming young man newly arrived from Paris has but one flaw: He cannot tell the truth. He immediately hires Cliton, a manservant who cannot tell a lie. Dorante proceeds to fall in love with a charming young woman, Clarice, thinking she is her friend, Lucrece. Through a series of errors, duels and false fabrications, The Liar dazzles with comic wit and slapstick.
Directed by artistic director James Eikrem, The Liar features a dynamic ensemble of CCC students and community members with scenic and lighting designed by Chris Whitten, and costumes by Gina Piva.
An opening night reception will be held Thursday, Feb. 28, at 6:30 p.m. with music provided by CCC’s Jazz Combo under the direction of Music Department Chair Lars Campbell. Refreshments will be served.
