A Mulino man died this week in a single vehicle crash on I-84 in Wasco County, east of The Dalles. According to Oregon State Police, 32-year-old Zack Rivera was westbound in his 2000 Dodge Ram pickup, when he struck a guardrail, crossed both lanes and went down an embankment.
Police say Rivera was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected from the vehicle. He sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Rivera left behind a wife, Kayla, and two small children. A GoFundMe campaign has been set up in support of the family here.
“Zack wrapped his world around Kayla and their two children,” the page, set up by Oregon City resident Nicole Marie, says. “He was always a selfless man taking care of everyone around him. Genuine to the bone. He had a vintage soul. He was an incredible father, partner, son, brother, nephew, uncle and friend to many.”
