A sexual abuse suspect is behind bars after he allegedly “maliciously groped” a woman at the Oregon City Dollar Tree store this week, police officials said.
Oregon City police officers were called out just before noon Thursday on reports of a woman being sexually assaulted by a stranger while standing in the checkout line of the Dollar Tree.
She told police she immediately confronted him when he “intentionally and maliciously groped her,” and he fled the store on foot.
Police spotted the suspect in the nearby neighborhood, and a foot pursuit ensued.
Officers chased him for several blocks, along some railroad tracks, and across Interstate 205 before finally placing him under arrest, without injury or further incident.
Hoffman’s bond is set at $10,000, according to online jail records.
