The nonprofit Friends of the Canby Public Library will hold a book sale from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, June 26, in the plaza outside the library and Canby Civic Center.
All proceeds from the sale will go to support library programming, as well as the purchase of new equipment to expand its virtual offerings.
Cash and card will be accepted. All Friends volunteers will be wearing face masks and carts will be spaced out to accommodate social distancing. Hand sanitizer will be provided.
Customers will be encouraged to follow all the recommended public health guidelines, including maintaining at least six feet of distance from others and wearing a face covering.
The Friends had previously announced it would cancel one of its largest fundraisers, the annual Great Backyard & Patio Tour .
“We know these past few months of the Covid-19 pandemic have been a difficult time for our community,” the Friends board of directors said in a letter to patrons last week. “Although we can’t see each other in the usual ways (which breaks our hearts!), rest assured that the amazing staff of the Canby Public Library has been hard at work, continuing to provide needed resources and programming to the people of Canby, and the Friends of the Library have been there every step of the way.”
