The cause of a fire that damaged an abandoned house in Oregon City late Wednesday night is under investigation, according to the Clackamas Fire District.
Just before midnight, Clackamas Fire crews were called out to the residential fire at 421 Molalla Avenue.
Crews arrived to the scene and found a one-and-a-half-story home heavily involved, with flames coming through the roof. Clackamas Fire said the home was abandoned and boarded up.
Firefighters initially worked from a defensive position — outside of the home — to keep crews safe, then moved inside to fully extinguish the fire and search the building.
No injuries were reported, and no one was displaced because of the incident.
Clackamas Fire said investigators responded to the scene early Thursday morning and would return later that day to determine the cause of the fire.
