A middle-aged woman drowned on the Pudding River near South Arndt Road west of Canby Sunday, the fire district reports.
Canby Fire District and the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the call at approximately 6:45 p.m.
Division Chief Matt English told the Canby Now Podcast the woman was found by a family member, and the circumstances prior to her discovery are unknown. The victim’s name has not been released.
Paramedics with CFD and mutual aid agencies attempted all possible resuscitation and advanced life support measures, but to no avail.
The Canby Fire District chaplain responded to the scene to assist with family.
