He said the new phone had been charged to his Verizon account without his knowledge or approval. I think that may qualify as felony theft. iPhones ain’t cheap.

A parent was called to the scene to retrieve both juveniles and the vehicle.
On Sept. 23, at 11:41 pm, officers received witness reports about suspicious activities associated with an unoccupied vehicle on Highway 99E. As officers approached, they noticed several individuals leave a laundromat and enter two separate vehicles.
Officers subsequently conducted traffic stops on both vehicles and made contact with the occupants. One of the passengers was taken into custody on an outstanding Clackamas County arrest warrant, and two other individuals were arrested for possession of controlled substances.
Although one of the passengers initially gave a fake nam, his identity was later confirmed after officers found recent jail release paperwork in the vehicle. Other items seized were hypodermic needles, suspected heroin, and methamphetamine. One vehicle, with an expired registration sticker on a switched license plate, was towed from the stop location.
