Clackamas County commissioners and other officials are inviting residents to attend and learn about wildfire prevention and preparation in the board’s first virtual town hall event of 2023.
Three years after much of southern, eastern and central Clackamas County was ravaged by major wildfires, county officials say they understand the public may be wondering where preparedness efforts stand, what â if anything â has changed since 2020, and what residents can do to help.
Guests will include the full Board of County Commissioners, Clackamas County Disaster Management Interim Director Daniel Nibouar and local fire officials.
Questions and comments from residents are encouraged during the event. Residents are strongly encouraged to send questions and comments ahead of time by email to clackconews@clackamas.us, with the subject line “Wildfire Town Hall.”
Clackamas County Chair Tootie Smith reserves the right to stop comments that are out of order or off-topic. Questions may also be shortened for time.
The event will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, August 1, via Zoom: https://clackamascounty.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_Kg9LtZ1xRe6Fy_yYMtzx2g.
