The Clackamas County Community Road Fund Advisory Committee will hold its fourth meeting from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 26, in Rooms 119-120 of the Development Services Building, 150 Beavercreek Road in Oregon City. The public is welcome to attend.
The 15-member committee is charged with reviewing proposed transportation construction projects to relieve congestion and recommending project priorities to the Board of Commissioners. Projects will be funded with revenue from the new countywide vehicle registration fee, which will go into effect in January 2020.
The primary focus at the Sept. 26 meeting will be to review recommended safety and local road paving projects that will also be funded with vehicle registration fee revenue, and to discuss prioritizing congestion relief projects. Transportation construction projects to be paid for with funds from the new Community Road Fund will be recommended to the Board of County Commissioners this fall.
Revenue from the $30-per-year countywide vehicle registration fee approved by the Board of Commissioners in February 2019 will go into the new Community Road Fund for projects to relieve congestion, improve safety and maintain local roads.
The advisory committee will focus on identifying the top congestion relief projects to be funded first with the new revenue. Recommendations will be presented to the Board of Commissioners, who will make the final decision about what projects will move forward first.
