Canby wrestling had an impressive start to their season last week, dominating from start to finish to take their first league match from Tigard, 44-24. Wrestlers winning their respective weight classes included Landon Sprague (106), Ethan Ensrud (113), Nick Marquez (120), Dom Netter (138), Tyler Hensley (160), Kaden Boyd (170) and Mathew Hagen (220).

They followed this up with an impressive showing at the North Bend Coast Classic on Friday and Saturday, with Nick Marquez (120), Caden Millar (145), Kaden Boyd (170), Logan Doman (182) and Brent Patterson (195) winning the championship in their respective weight classes.
Landon Sprague (106), Ethan Ensrud (113), Asher Chaffee (126), Dom Netter (138), Zack Markell (152), Tyler Hensley (160), Matthew Hagen (220) and Payton Martin (285) all advanced to the Coast Classic finals, but ultimately fell to other challengers.
A number of Canby’s girl wrestlers were also in action this weekend at the War of the Roses in Rose City, including Havvy Ehrich, Yared Calderon, Marisol Rosiles-Malagon, Martha Perez, Lexi Zoriaga, Elsie Cobarrubias and Nancy Garcia.
The boys will be back on the mats Thursday as they head to West Linn for a Three Rivers league varsity dual. The action starts at 7 p.m.
