The coronavirus pandemic has impacted virtually every aspect of our lives, but it has particularly devastating on live music and entertainment — including Canby Community Theatre, which has had to postpone its planned dual summer productions of Bright Star/Wiley and The Hairy Man until 2021.
But the show, as they say, must go on, so Director Craig Holbrook and his team are going virtual. On Sunday, May 24, and Monday, May 25, Canby Community Theatre will present its production of the one-act play, Cindy and Julie by Bruce Kane, which will be performed live on YouTube.
Holbrook said he didn’t want to share any spoilers, but described the plot as: “Two post-divorce young women awaiting their therapist appointments share the myths and truths of their lives.”
The production features Lauren Pickthorn as Cindy, Jenna Haugen as Julie and Cadence Moore as an unnamed young woman. Costeau Lattig is the stage manager and technician, with direction from Holbrook.
Viewers should be advised that the show contains some adult language. Holbrook rates it “PG” and said the production is about 15 to 20 minutes long.
