A Canby City Council Candidate Forum is on tap for later this month at the Cutsforth’s Town Hall meeting space above Cutsforth’s Market, sponsored and organized by the Canby Area Chamber of Commerce and The Canby Current.
All seven candidates for the three open seats on the Canby City Council have been invited and are expected to take part, including incumbents Greg Parker, Shawn Varwig and Art Marine and challengers Brad Clark, Jim Davis, Craig Lewelling and Herman Maldonado. Current editor Tyler Francke will serve as moderator.
Candidates will have equal time answering prepared questions from event organizers as well as written questions from the audience. They will also be given time for opening and closing remarks.
The event, which is free and open to the public, will start promptly at 6 p.m. and is expected to last two hours. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Cutsforth’s Market is located at 225 Northeast 2nd Avenue. The Town Hall entrance is in the rear of the building.
