An Aurora man was arrested in Oregon City Monday, after police say he drove to an apartment building to engage in sexual activity with an undercover officer he believed to be a 15-year-old girl.
Billy Joe Davis II, 49, was arrested by the Oregon City Police Department at Kingsbury Heights Apartments on Marjorie Lane. Police say the investigation began on July 6, when Davis allegedly sent an unsolicited Facebook message to an officer posing as an underage female.
Davis asked the officer for sexually explicit photographs and videos on multiple occasions, police said, before arranging the meeting for 9 a.m. Monday.
Davis was arrested without incident on charges of luring a minor, online sexual corruption of a child in the first degree and using a child in display of sexually explicit conduct. He is currently lodged at the Clackamas County Jail on $280,000 bail.
OC police said the investigation serves as a reminder for parents to continually educate their children on safe internet practices and habits.
Davis has a previous criminal record, including stealing nearly $4,000 worth of books from the Lake Oswego Public Library and Libraries in Clackamas County in 2013, which he then sold online and to local bookstores.
