Two Portland Police Officers Injured in Northeast Portland Crash

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Two Portland police officers were hospitalized Saturday evening after being involved in a traffic collision in Northeast Portland.

Crash Details

The incident occurred around 7:15 p.m. near NE 129th Avenue and Halsey Street, according to Portland Police Bureau officials. The crash involved a patrol vehicle and another car, though the exact circumstances leading up to the collision remain under investigation.

Emergency responders quickly arrived at the scene to provide assistance. The two officers were taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation and treatment as a precaution. The driver of the other vehicle was also transported to the hospital with injuries, but none of the injuries were reported to be life-threatening, police said.

Investigation Underway

Authorities have not yet released details on how the crash occurred or whether any citations have been issued. Traffic in the area was temporarily disrupted as officers and investigators examined the scene and cleared the roadway.

The Portland Police Bureau has not disclosed the identities of the officers or the other driver involved. Investigators are expected to review body camera footage, vehicle data, and witness statements to determine the sequence of events.

Official Statement

“There’s no indication that the injuries are life-threatening,” police confirmed in a brief statement Saturday night.

The bureau expressed relief that all involved are expected to recover and thanked the public for their patience as the investigation continues.

Further updates are expected once investigators have more information regarding the cause of the crash and any contributing factors such as road conditions, visibility, or vehicle speed.

KOIN 6 News will continue to follow this developing story as more details are released.
