Police Arrest Two After Gunfire Incident Near SE Division Street in Portland

PORTLAND, Ore. (KATU) — Portland police arrested two people after responding to reports of gunfire near Southeast Division Street and the Interstate 205 freeway on Thursday.


Officers Respond to Gunfire

According to police, officers were dispatched after multiple reports of shots fired in the area. When they arrived, they located a man actively discharging a firearm near the busy intersection.

Authorities quickly moved in and detained the suspect without further incident.


Suspect Identified

Police identified the man as 33-year-old Taylor Ian Trumbull. In addition to being arrested for the gunfire incident, Trumbull was also taken into custody on several outstanding warrants.

Investigators have not released further details about the type of weapon used or whether anyone was injured.


Second Arrest at the Scene

A woman who was with Trumbull at the time of the arrest was also taken into custody. Police identified her as 38-year-old Nicole Louise Weber.

Weber was arrested due to an existing warrant unrelated to the gunfire incident. Authorities did not specify the charges connected to her warrant.

As of Thursday evening, police said the case remains under investigation. Detectives are working to determine what led to the gunfire and whether any additional suspects or weapons were involved.
