SEASIDE, Ore. — Authorities have confirmed that the body of a man reported missing Thursday evening was discovered early Friday morning on Seaside Beach.
Discovery on the Shore
Officials said the body was found around 7:30 a.m. near Avenue A. Seaside Police and Seaside Fire & Rescue responded to the scene shortly after receiving the report. The victim was identified as 64-year-old Wayne Wilson, who had been the subject of an overnight search effort.
Search Efforts After Disappearance
Wilson was last seen around 6:30 p.m. Thursday near his home in the area of North Wahanna Road and Broadway Street. After he was reported missing, authorities launched a coordinated search involving both police officers and fire rescue personnel. Despite their efforts, the search concluded tragically the following morning when Wilson’s body was located on the beach.

The Clatsop County Medicolegal Death Investigator was called to the scene to examine the body and determine the cause of death. As of Friday, no foul play has been reported, and officials have not released further details regarding the circumstances surrounding his death.
