PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Portland police are investigating a deadly stabbing that took place Sunday afternoon at Dawson Park in Northeast Portland, leaving one man dead and a community shaken.
Incident at Dawson Park
Authorities say the stabbing occurred around 1:15 p.m. Witnesses at the scene reported that in addition to the stabbing, a shot was also fired during the confrontation. The sequence of events remains under investigation as officers work to confirm details.
Victim Taken to Emanuel Hospital
According to officials, bystanders rushed to help the victim immediately after the attack. They transported him to Emanuel Hospital, located just blocks away from Dawson Park. Despite the efforts to save him, the man later died from his injuries.
