The festive season has officially arrived in Canby, where the annual Country Christmas Bazaar is bringing together cheerful shoppers, handmade treasures, and the sweet scent of holiday treats. Held at the Clackamas County Event Center, the beloved event runs through November 15, offering free admission and parking to visitors ready to embrace the Christmas spirit early.
A Festive Tradition Returns
For many Oregonians, the Country Christmas Bazaar marks the unofficial start of the holiday season. The event transforms the event center into a winter wonderland filled with creativity, crafts, and seasonal décor — a perfect stop for those eager to get a head start on Christmas shopping and decorating.
“This is my fourth year coming, and I make it a point to wait for holiday shopping until I come to this event,” said Sheryl Lynn Walton from Milwaukie. “It’s a little early, but I love to get the season started with this one. There’s always such a fun variety of decorations, arts, crafts, and creativity to choose from. For me, this one starts the holiday bazaar season good and proper.”

Her enthusiasm is shared by many who return year after year to browse the booths, meet local artisans, and stock up on one-of-a-kind items that add a personal touch to their celebrations.
Holiday Shopping and Homemade Flavors
Beyond the glittering ornaments and festive décor, the bazaar offers something for every holiday enthusiast — from handmade jewelry and wooden crafts to baked goods and gourmet food items.
For Regina and Taylor Melcher of Wilsonville, the short trip to Canby is an annual tradition. “One of the things I really enjoy is trying the jams, jellies, and other food items that are available,” said Taylor. “I admit I love the free samples and always find one or two things to take home.”
Regina’s mission, however, was more sentimental. “I collect angel ornaments and other angel items for our Christmas display at the house,” she explained. “From earrings to ornaments to signs, I’m always looking for something I don’t have. This bazaar has never disappointed. And I really like the other room at the back with some of the older stuff — it kind of takes me back.”
A Week of Christmas Cheer
Running for a full week, the bazaar gives visitors plenty of time to browse, taste, and enjoy the holiday atmosphere. Early November might seem soon for tinsel and lights, but the timing has proven to be one of the event’s greatest strengths.
By offering an early opportunity to shop and celebrate, the Country Christmas Bazaar lets people ease into the season at their own pace — long before the December rush. It’s a warm, inviting way to get inspired for decorating, gift-giving, and celebrating with family and friends.
