Canby Library Showcases Featured Artist Through December

Kris Kuester’s Artwork on Display Until Year’s End

The Canby Public Library is highlighting the creative works of artist Kris Kuester, whose collection will be featured through December 31. Visitors can explore a range of expressive pieces that blend emotion, mood, and a balance of realism and abstraction.

Art Rooted in Emotion and Expression

For Kuester, art is more than technique; it is a personal form of expression shaped by experiences and perspective.
“I began my art journey during a time when I needed space for myself,” she shared. “I felt a strong desire not only to observe but to create. Along the way, many teachers, workshops and classes helped me grow. Now, I hope my work encourages people to connect with the mood, story, emotion, reality and abstraction within each painting.”

Her approach emphasizes capturing feeling and storytelling through color and texture, offering viewers multiple layers to interpret.

A Blend of Watercolor and Acrylic

Kuester, who lives in Tigard, works primarily with watercolor and acrylic, using both mediums to explore different styles and depths. Her collection includes a variety of pieces, ranging from atmospheric landscapes to more abstract interpretations of everyday moments.

In addition to her gallery-style works, she also creates small commissions, particularly pet portraits, which have become a popular part of her portfolio.

Exhibit Open Through December

The Canby Public Library invites community members and visitors to explore Kuester’s work throughout the holiday season. The display will remain available until the end of December, offering ample opportunity for art lovers to stop by and engage with her expressive and thoughtfully crafted pieces.
