Targeted Attack in the Early Morning
CORNELIUS, Ore. — A 37-year-old Beaverton man, Samuel Lund, has been arrested following a violent and targeted attack involving both explosives and gunfire in Cornelius. Authorities say the incident occurred around 4:13 a.m. on Thursday, November 6, 2025, when deputies from the Washington County Sheriff’s Office were called to the 300 block of North 10th Avenue after reports of an explosion.
The caller told dispatchers that an explosive device had been thrown at a home’s front door. When deputies arrived, they discovered multiple bullet holes in the entryway, though, fortunately, no injuries were reported. Investigators quickly determined that the assault was not random—the suspect was known to the victim, suggesting a deliberate, personal motive behind the attack.
Specialized Teams Called In
Due to the dangerous nature of the incident, deputies immediately requested support from specialized law enforcement units. The Community Violence Reduction Team (CoVRT) and the Metro Explosives Disposal Unit were brought in to assess the scene and ensure no additional explosives were present.
