According to her daughter, Jennifer Fuller, the store owner, Anna Hyde, followed the men outside and reached into their car to retrieve the stolen alcohol.
“They slammed the door on her arm, trapping it, and started to drive away,” Fuller told KOIN 6 News. “She fell to the ground, completely breaking the right side of her body and hitting her head. They dragged her through the gravel parking lot with her arm still caught in the car.”
Severe Injuries and Hospitalization
A store employee found Hyde on the ground and immediately called 911. Paramedics transported her to Legacy Emanuel Medical Center, where she remains in the trauma unit.
Fuller described her mother’s injuries as extensive. “She’s suffering from a brain bleed, a broken hip and femur with five fractures, a broken hand, and deep lacerations on her back and head,” she said. “My mom is a healthy woman who’s never broken a bone before—and now she’s fighting for her life.”
Police Investigation Underway
The Portland Police Bureau’s Major Crimes Unit is investigating the robbery and assault. Detectives are reviewing video evidence and asking for help from anyone who may recognize the suspects or have seen the getaway vehicle.
Fuller made a public plea for assistance, saying, “We’re begging anyone with information to come forward so police can find these men and hold them accountable.”
