PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — A violent weekend in Portland left two people dead and four others injured after gunfire broke out in five separate incidents across the city, including one at a party held at an Airbnb.
Teen Shot at Airbnb Party
The first shooting occurred around midnight Sunday, when a 19-year-old was wounded during a large gathering at an Airbnb near NE Thompson Court and 159th Avenue.
Neighbor Crystal Flores, who lives nearby with her husband, said they could hear the commotion long before the shooting started.
“They were all being really loud and it just sounded like a party,” she told KOIN 6 News. “Then around 12:15, my husband heard the gunshot and called the police.”

When officers arrived, they found the teen injured inside a car near the property. The victim was transported to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police have not released any information about suspects, and attempts to contact the Airbnb’s owners were unsuccessful.
String of Shootings Across the City
The gunfire didn’t stop there. Over the next 24 hours, four more shootings erupted in different parts of Portland:

Police confirmed that no arrests have been made in any of the cases so far.
Police Chief Addresses Rising Concerns
Portland Police Bureau Chief Bob Day acknowledged the string of shootings but noted that overall shooting incidents are down 42% this year compared to 2024. However, he also admitted that calls for service have risen by 8%, while the department continues to face staffing shortages.
“One of our primary goals is to reduce crime and the fear of crime,” Day said in an interview with KOIN 6 News. “We’re asking residents to remain alert and aware in their neighborhoods to help maintain the level of safety Portlanders expect.”
Ongoing Investigations
Detectives are actively investigating all five incidents and are seeking witnesses or surveillance footage that could help identify suspects or vehicles involved.
The recent shootings come amid ongoing concerns about gun violence in Portland, even as city officials point to long-term progress in reducing homicides.
Authorities urge anyone with information about any of the shootings to contact the Portland Police Bureau or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers of Oregon.
Police say they are continuing patrols in the affected areas and working to reassure communities shaken by another weekend of gun violence.
